They now are prohibited from going anywhere, whether it is the cinema, the mall, the hospital or to take public transportation, etc while wearing their niqab.
Thereby violating the International human rights, as well as the Canadian human rights code. How would a government with straight piece of mine allow such a law to pass and create havoc in the Canadian history while spoiling the very fabric, the idea of great Prime Ministers of the past including one of the greatest one: Pierre Elliot Trudeau who reflected at one of the convention centers while speaking with Mr.Peter Goudas and advising him to continue with the multicultural program by stating, and we quote ”Go ahead Mr. Goudas, we need all the nationalities in the world to create this beautiful country”” and now they try anything possible to spoil the enjoyment that we have been accustomed to for the last 150 years.
Make no mistake; this is the beginning of narrow-mindedness and fanaticism.
These nationalities are not the only ones that will be affected through religions and so on and so forth… If you are reading this material, we urge you to contact your politicians your municipalities right now and complain about this Act that infringe with the Human Rights Code.
I want you to think as a Canadian, the impact that this law will have in the near future and the effect that will follow. We are fighting intolerance in various parts of the world including Afghanistan while it is happening in our own backyard. How hypocritical is that? The good name that we have around the world as peaceful, welcoming country is getting faded. And if while traveling abroad, you inform that you are Canadian they may spit right in our face as a citizen of a two-faced country!.
My question is: Do you want this to happen??? I hope not! It is question of our religious freedom here in Canada. Now let’s pause here and reflect for a moment: If expressing one’s religious rights becomes illegal now imagine wearing the Greek "Fustanella" or crosses, or the dress of Amalia during the public parade scheduled to be on the 25 th of March and 28 th of October in most major cities, may become prohibited as well.
What about the Scottish, will they be banned too from that what they are wearing? As a small contribution of half a million Greeks to the Canadian population, we protest such discriminatory law.
